The question about performance marketing in F2P mobile games is definitely crucial but that mostly take place when the game is released or during soft launch.
As we already discussed, I am wondering if there is an opportunity to adapt some of the PC/Console pre-launch marketing strategy such as community building (Discord/mailing list...) to a mobile game that target long term usage like Game As A Service? Especially if the game following an Alpha/Beta scheme like big PC/Console game.
If not would you recommend any marketing or discoverability work during the development phase of this type of game?
I think it's definitely worth trying the mailing list/Discord concept, yes! I just haven't seen lots of examples of it. If people can find them, please post it here.
