[The GameDiscoverCo game discovery newsletter is written by ‘how people find your game’ expert Simon Carless. This newsletter is normally exclusive to GameDiscoverCo Plus subscribers, and rounds up a plethora of exclusive platform sales & other analysis.]

Hey folks, and welcome to Friday’s GameDiscoverCo newsletter, where we analyze specific games and specially compiled charts, to work out what’s really popular, PC and console game-wise.

This missive normally goes out solely to our Plus members. But our newsletter platform now allows us to send out partly gated posts. So we’ll occasionally send a Friday newsletter out (like this one!) where everyone can read the start, and Plus crew can read the whole thing.

Anyhow, here’s what’s in this particular Plus-specific edition:

  • A look at the surprising (and notable) rise of ‘social deduction’ game Dread Hunger.

  • Our Plus-exclusive interactive Steam back-end gets a new ‘tag classification’ feature - more detail on which pre-release Steam tags have the most hype, genre-wise.

  • We take a look at this week’s big Steam winners (Shadow Warrior 3, Elex II, Hero’s Hour) and, uhh, non-winners, plus flash forward to next week’s Hype.

  • The customary tour of ‘recent hit games’ on Switch, PlayStation, Xbox (outside of Game Pass) and overall Epic Games Store, with custom compiled data on the new games doing well.

Dread Hunger - what made its sales/stonks go up?
