And I think you nailed it on the head with the Superhero genre. If you look at the 90s you’ll notice the comic book form hit a peak. Then it crashed and went through a period where adult deconstructionism became the norm.
The Boys, Invincible, Peacemaker and a few others reflect that now. Dispatch fits in with neatly. I told a friend about it who does not like Superheroes but she was very interested in trying it out after I told her about the Invisigirl arc.
